Description
Join us on Saturday, January 31, 2026, for Knit for a Cause, a full-day community event supporting youth mental health awareness. Hosted by the Community Service Committee at Central Congregational Church, there are two ways to participate!
- Experienced knitters can spend 8AM–8PM endurance knitting. Bring your own supplies and work on whatever knitting project speaks to you! All knitters are asked to raise or donate at least $40. Knitters are encouraged to gather hourly sponsors to amplify their impact; the suggested sponsorship is $10.00/hour.
- Anyone new to knitting should attend for a 10AM–2PM “Learn to Knit” session co-sponsored by Skein Yarn Shop. Registration is $40 (including lunch), plus the cost of your learn-to-knit-kit. For all our Learn to Knit participants, kits will be available for purchase at cost from SKEIN.
To join our team, please use this
link, make your $40 donation and click “continue.” At the next screen, leave us a message with your name and we will add you to the team roster. You are then welcome to share our QR code or link with your friend network to gather additional donations for
any amount–large or small, every dollar counts! Registration due by
January 26. Please register using this
link. Let us know about any food allergies @
jlri@jlri.org or reach out with questions!
Not a knitter or can’t make the event? You can still support the work of The Junior League by sponsoring one of our knitters. Use the link to donate.
Doors will open at 7:30am. There will be chairs provided, but you may want to bring a comfortable camping style chair.
